How to Enter:
1. Choose Your Character:
Select any character voiced by the legendary Richard Epcar. From anime to video games, the options are vast! (Need some inspiration? Think about characters from Mortal Kombat, Kingdom Hearts, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Ghost in the Shell, and many more!)
2. Create Your Art:
Produce an original piece of artwork showcasing your chosen character. All traditional and digital art mediums are welcome (e.g., painting, drawing, sculpture, digital illustration, mixed media).
Recommended Dimensions: For submissions, we recommend artwork that can be easily displayed and printed. Ideal dimensions are:
8" x 10" (20.3 cm x 25.4 cm)
11" x 14" (27.9 cm x 35.6 cm)
16" x 20" (40.6 cm x 50.8 cm)
Larger pieces are welcome, but please consider these sizes for ease of submission and potential display.
3. Submit Your Entry:
Take a high-quality photo or scan of your artwork. For digital art, please submit a high-resolution JPG or PNG file (at least 300 DPI for best quality).
Email your submission to RETROPLANETTX@GMAIL.COM with the subject line "Richard Epcar Fan Art Contest Entry."
In the body of the email, include your full name, a brief description of your artwork, and the Richard Epcar character you've depicted.
Submissions are open from [TBA] to [TBA].
Contest Rules:
• Originality: All artwork must be original and created by the submitter. No AI-generated art.
• Character Focus: The artwork must prominently feature a character voiced by Richard Epcar.
• One Entry Per Person: Please limit one entry per artist.
• Appropriate Content: All submissions must be family-friendly and appropriate for all ages. Submissions containing offensive, explicit, or harmful content will be disqualified.
• Winner Selection: A panel of judges, comprising art professionals and representatives from Retro Planet, will evaluate all eligible entries. Winners will be decided based on the following criteria:
o Creativity & Originality (40%): How unique and imaginative is the concept and execution? Does the artwork offer a fresh perspective on the chosen character?
o Artistic Skill & Technique (30%): Demonstrated mastery of the chosen medium, quality of composition, color usage, and attention to detail.
o Interpretation of Character (20%): How well does the artwork capture the essence, personality, or iconic elements of the Richard Epcar character?
o Overall Impact & Presentation (10%): The overall impression of the artwork and its visual appeal.
• Winner Notification: Winners will be notified via email by [TBA] and announced on our social media channels.
• Rights: By entering, artists grant [Your Organization Name/Retro Planet] the right to display their artwork in a digital art gallery and for promotional purposes related to the contest. Artists retain the rights to their original artwork.
• Retro Planet Booth: The 1st place prize is for a standard artist/vendor booth at Retro Planet 2026. The winner is responsible for any additional costs associated with the booth (e.g., table rentals, electricity, travel, accommodations).
• Prize Redemption: Discount codes for 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be provided upon winner notification and can be applied to future booth purchases for Retro Planet 2025.
