Retro Planet 2026: Media & Press Guidelines

Welcome, media and press professionals! We're thrilled you're interested in covering Retro Planet 2026. These guidelines are here to make sure your experience is as smooth and productive as possible, allowing you to capture the essence of our vibrant retro celebration while ensuring a great time for everyone involved.

1. Eligibility & Applying for Media/Press Badges

Media/Press badges offer complimentary access to Retro Planet 2026, specifically for editorial coverage.

Who Can Apply: We welcome journalists, photographers, videographers, and content creators from established news outlets (print, online, TV, radio), industry publications, or recognized independent media platforms. Freelancers should provide proof of assignment or a portfolio of relevant published work. Bloggers, podcasters, and social media influencers with a solid audience and consistent, relevant content may also be considered.

How to Apply: Please submit all applications in advance of Retro Planet 2026 – on-site applications might be limited or unavailable. You'll need to provide your name, media affiliation, contact info, and a brief plan for your coverage. Proof of affiliation (like a staff ID, assignment letter, or recent articles) is required. Our Media Team will review applications and has the final say on approvals.

Badge Collection: If approved, we'll send you instructions on how and when to pick up your badge. Please bring a photo ID and a business card.

2. What Your Badge Offers

A Retro Planet 2026 Media/Press badge typically gives you:

Complimentary Entry: Access to the main event floor during official operating hours.

Designated Press Areas: Use of any dedicated press rooms or media work areas, if available.

Interview Opportunities: Chances to interview Retro Planet organizers, special guests, and exhibitors. Please note these are subject to their availability and often require prior arrangement.

Press Kits: Access to official press releases, event schedules, and digital assets.

Just a heads up: Media badges generally cover Saturday entry only, unless Retro Planet states otherwise for 2026. Access to special events, panels, or exclusive functions might need separate arrangements or an invitation.

3. Photography & Filming Policy

We encourage you to capture the awesome vibe of Retro Planet 2026, but please follow these guidelines:

General Coverage: You can take photos and videos in public areas of the event for your editorial and news coverage.

Respect & Consent: This is super important: always ask for permission before taking close-up photos or videos of individual attendees, cosplayers, or their costumes. Please respect their decision if they decline. Similarly, always get permission from vendors and artists before photographing or filming their booths, products, or artwork.

Equipment: Professional equipment is generally fine, but large setups (like extensive lighting rigs or tripods blocking walkways) might be restricted in busy areas or require prior approval.

Usage Rights: By attending Retro Planet 2026, you grant Retro Planet permission to use any images or footage captured at the event for our own archives or promotional efforts (e.g., on our website, social media, or future promo materials).

4. Media Conduct & Expectations

We expect all accredited media to uphold a high level of professionalism:

Professionalism First: Please be courteous and professional with all staff, guests, exhibitors, and attendees.

Code of Conduct: You must adhere to the general Retro Planet Code of Conduct, which promotes positive behavior and a harassment-free environment. Harassment of cosplayers or any attendee won't be tolerated and will lead to immediate badge revocation.

Display Your Badge: Wear your Retro Planet 2026 Media/Press badge clearly visible at all times while on event grounds.

Compliance: Please follow all instructions from Retro Planet staff and security. Not complying could lead to immediate removal from the event and your credentials being revoked.

Credit Us: When you publish content from Retro Planet 2026, please acknowledge Retro Planet as the source or reference the event where appropriate.
